Training and Research about Scale and Impact in Social Entrepreneurship in Iberoamérica

Between September of 2010 and September of 2011 the SEKN network developed the project: “Scale and Impact on Social Entrepreneurship in Iberoamérica with the support of the BBVA Group of Spain”. This project had the participation of 6 teams from the SEKN network (EGADE – Mexico, ESADE – Spain, IESA – Venezuela, Uniandes – Colombia, UP – Peru, UdeSA – Argentina). The overall objective of the project was to advance the understanding of the process by which social initiatives that use market mechanisms (social business) achieve scale and social impact, and to train entrepreneurs and management teams directly involved in the management of social business.
Within the framework of the project, six analytical studies on social businesses that had reached a volume of a certain scale or were replicated and achieved scale indirectly were developed and courses and training workshops were given to support social entrepreneurs who are working with businesses in 6 Latin American countries (Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela).
