 MISSION

The Social Enterprise Knowledge Network (SEKN) seeks to advance the frontiers of knowledge and practice in social enterprise through collaborative research, shared learning, participant-centered teaching, and the strengthening of management education institutions' capabilities to serve their communities.

 VISION

Our vision for the year 2015 is that SEKN will have changed the world of social enterprise through:

Knowledge Generation
We will have significantly advanced the frontiers of social enterprise knowledge. From its research SEKN members will have produced the most significant body of new knowledge on Ibero-American social enterprise in the hemisphere, consisting of 20 books, over 200 articles, and over 200 case studies. It will be widely recognized as a leading thinker in social enterprise.

Knowledge Dissemination
SEKN's publications in English, Spanish, and Portuguese will have been distributed in every country in the hemisphere and be accessible globally via the internet. We will have impacted academics and significantly stimulated their research and teaching in social enterprise. Our dissemination will have deeply penetrated the communities of social enterprise practitioners achieving broad access to new knowledge. SEKN will be widely recognized as a major source of knowledge

Teaching
SEKN will have directly or indirectly taught via academic courses and executive education programs thousands of students and social enterprise practitioners from the business, social, and public sectors. Our teaching will have a transformative effect on these future and current social enterprise leaders.
We will have significantly increased their awareness, strengthened their skills, and enhanced their attitudes. These increased capabilities will lead to life times of
superior social enterprise leadership and organizational performance.

Institutional Development
Each of the member schools will have been indelibly imprinted and changed forever by its participation in SEKN. Social Enterprise will be irreversibly embedded in each school's mission, curriculum, teaching, research, and community service. There will be a cadre of superbly qualified faculty dedicated to this field, which will have parity status with all other functional areas of management.

Network Development
SEKN will be recognized globally not only as a leading source of social enterprise knowledge, but also as an innovative best practices leader for collaborative knowledge networks. It will have a core of 20 member schools and will have fostered the development of national SEKN associate networks in each member country, thereby multiplying its reach and impact tenfold. It will also have fostered the development of and have strategic alliances with several international networks, and other regional SEKN networks in Asia and Africa.
